we encounter
patient paths
presented with
past choices
of others
expected to repeat
mistakes enmasse
and forget free
will and
self-identity
instead, i clutch
my fate
& chose neither
possibilities laid
before me
my will forges
admirable avenues
of my own
fresh blades of grass
bend for the first time
undisturbed by the
robotic impressions
of those before me
my oversights will
be my own
